Euratom Declaration 1493/93
To import or export sealed sources to or from an EU Member State, you need the following: a licence or notification for transport and a valid Euratom declaration 1493/93.
Euratom declaration requirements
The government agency of the importing country must authenticate this Euratom document. In the Netherlands, this is the ANVS. The Euratom document must be in the possession of the sender of the sealed sources before exporting or importing them. With this document, you can demonstrate that the recipient is entitled to receive the radioactive substances. You can use the standard Euratom document to apply for authentication. This document is also available in Dutch, German and French.
How do you submit a Euratom declaration?
To receive a certified declaration, first report the transport at the ANVS portal. You go through 5 steps:
- Fill in the Euratom 1493/93 form
- Go to the ANVS portal and log in
- Go to ‘notifications’ and select ‘other transport notification’
- Select ‘Euratom 1493/93’ under ‘notification type’
- Fill in the other questions
You will receive an email confirmation of receipt from the ANVS with a registration number. You will need this number for further communication with the ANVS. After receipt, your notification will be assessed, the Euratom document will be certified and sent to you by email and by post.
Euratom quarterly reporting requirements
Holders of encapsulated sources or other relevant sources are required, pursuant to Article 6 of Euratom Regulation 1493/93, to provide the competent authorities in the Member State of destination with information on deliveries every quarter. This concerns deliveries that took place in that past quarter.
You can also send your report in English.
