Recognition of dosimetric services SCK CEN renewed

After five years, the recognition of the Belgian company SCK CEN had expired. Now the Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ANVS) has again recognised SCK CEN as a dosimetric service in the Netherlands. This means that SCK CEN can supply dosimeters (radiation dosimeters) here. Stakeholders can submit objections to this decision up to and including 29 June 2024.

Worker safety checks

In certain places in the Netherlands, such as hospitals, workers work with ionising radiation. Employers in these locations are required to perform checks to see how much radiation workers are exposed to, which is often done using a dosimeter. Employers may only purchase dosimeters from services recognised by the Authority.

SCK CEN meets requirements

On 25 March, SCK CEN applied for a new recognition as a dosimetric service. Our licensors checked whether the application complied with the requirements. Due to the fact that it did, we have taken the decision to renew the recognition of SCK CEN. For example because the company has enough employees with good knowledge and experience.
