Will you be transporting fissionable materials to or from the Port of Antwerp via the Western Scheldt without stopping at any Dutch ports? Have the Belgian authorities authorised this transport? In that case, you are a so-called 'Belgium sailor'. No licence is required, but you will need to submit a notification via the ANVS online portal. This notification must be submitted at least 3 weeks in advance.
Notification for Belgium sailors
- Go to the ANVS online portal.
- Log in with eHerkenning.
- Click on 'Notifications and announcements'.
- Click 'Notifications', then 'Notification of other transport'.
- Complete the form in full.
- Submit the completed form.
- You will receive a confirmation email from us. This email contains a registration number. Quote this registration number in future correspondence.
Assessment
The ANVS will assess your notification. We will let you know if any further information is needed.
