The Dutch Advisory Board on ICT Assessments (AcICT) will be assessing the replacement of ANVS’s current case management system. AcICT is an independent body responsible for assessing the risks and viability of governmental ICT projects.
Cruciality of good case management system
As noted in our annual plans and annual reports (in Dutch), the ANVS is committed to further professionalisation. We will soon be making important progress in the improvement of our information provision. We have begun preparations for the replacement of our current ZAPP case management system. AcICT is conducting an investigation of this proposed replacement.
Our case management system plays a crucial role in helping us fulfil a number of our legal duties. For example, the ANVS online portal is part of this case management system. Businesses use the portal to apply for licences for e.g. the transport or use of radioactive sources. That means it is very important that the new case management system function well for all users.
Investigation
AcICT’s investigation will assess factors such as the project’s feasibility, risks and control measures. The purpose of this assessment is to provide insight into opportunities and threats and support us in taking a careful and responsible approach to the new system’s adoption. AcICT: “The investigation helps to improve clients’ control of project risks, thereby improving the chance of success.” AcICT’s investigative activities include documentary analysis, meetings with stakeholders and an evaluation of the project approach.
Outcome
We expect to be informed of the investigation’s outcome later this year. These findings can then be applied to the further implementation of the replacement process. AcICT will make the results of their investigation publicly available and we will provide a response on our website.
