Purpose of the licence
HVC engages in waste collection and processing and sustainable energy operations, including operations involving geothermal energy. N.V. HVC has been granted a licence to engage in activities for the extraction of geothermal energy. These operations bring natural radioactive substances up to the surface from underground. N.V. HVC has therefore also been granted a licence for the storage and safe disposal of these substances. This will take place at Middenzwet 53 in Wateringen and Noordscharwouderpolderweg 9 in Heerhugowaard.
Appeals possible until 11 November 2026
If you wish to object to the licence, you can appeal (Dutch) to the Administrative Jurisdiction Division of the Council of State until 11 November 2026.
There are three situations in which you may submit an appeal. To submit an appeal, you must be an interested party directly affected by the licence. Additionally, you can submit an appeal if you previously submitted a statement of view (public participation response) for the draft licence. If you did not submit a statement of view previously, but cannot be reasonably held accountable for failing to do so, you may also submit an appeal.
