The Dutch Advisory Board on ICT Assessments (AcICT) (Dutch) assessed ANVS’s replacement of our current case management system. AcICT is an independent body responsible for assessing the risks and viability of governmental ICT projects.
The recommendation
AcICT agrees with our plans to replace our current ZAPP case management system with a new system, the Primary Process Platform (PPP). They also indicate that we have prepared well. AcICT has two main recommendations.
First, AcICT concludes that it is uncertain whether PPP will be ready to go live by the end of October 2026. They recommend taking enough time and attention to ensure this.
Secondly, AcICT indicates that we should be storing data in as few places as possible to prevent the creation of multiple data versions.
Our response
We will not start using PPP until the quality is high enough. We will also follow the recommendations in AcICT’s report. That means we will be paying more attention to and reserving more time for ease of use, information security and speed.
We are also adopting the data storage recommendation. We will start working on this now.
Cruciality of good case management system
Our case management system plays a crucial role in helping us fulfil a number of our legal duties. For example, the ANVS online portal is part of this case management system. People use this portal to apply to us for licences for e.g. the transport or use of radioactive sources. It is very important that the new case management system function well for all users.
